See All ReviewsIt's very hard for me to put into words how good this place was. The food is exquisite, the ingredients are fresh and local, and hand selected daily by proprietor and chef Sasha. I've had tapas at a fairly upscale Spanish restaurant in London, England, and Sasha's Konoba tapas and vino is better. My mind was blown by the food and the wine and the whole experience. Sasha himself is an experience not to be missed. My wife and I walked in the restaurant as strangers to Sasha never having met each other before, but a bottle of wine, some great intellectual conversation, a couple of songs performed on his guitar and some wonderful Spanish Sherry we walked out with a new friend. He and his sweet, kind sister, Natasha, create a very calm, laid back and comfortable atmosphere that suits the restaurant perfectly. My wife and I go to Sault Ste. Marie Michigan about once a year, but don't normally cross the international border. From now on we will go through the hassle of the border crossing just for a visit to this place. I can't wait to go back. I cannot urge a person strong enough to go experience this gem for themselves.
Great beer great service great bread
A totally unexpected and delightful find on my short stop at the SOO! I had 4 tapas items and every one of them made with fresh ingredients, light but complex flavors and textures that worked well together and perfectly balanced. It's clear the owner/chef puts in a lot of thoughts and creativity into each dish, that he cares and respects the food he serves. If you are visiting Sault Ste. Marie, make sure you check this place out. If I lived there, I'd be going back at least once a week.
